Does the Ranger require a monthly subscription?
The Ranger device is a one-time purchase at $89.99. You'll then need a monthly plan — either Fleet365 at $8.99/mo or Shield365 at $7.99/mo — to access tracking, alerts, and trip history.
What's included when I buy the Ranger?
You receive the Ranger OBD-II device, a quick-start guide, and access to the Rescue Rangers app. Your chosen subscription plan unlocks the full feature set.
What's the difference between Fleet365 and Shield365?
Fleet365 is designed for business fleet management with driver analytics and multi-vehicle dashboards. Shield365 is built for personal and family use — tracking one or a few vehicles with alerts for parents and individuals.
What type of vehicle tracking does the Ranger support?
The Ranger works with Shield365 for live tracking and with Fleet365 for passive live tracking. Tracking behavior and available features depend on the plan you choose.
Will the Ranger work with my car?
The Ranger works with any gasoline- or diesel-powered vehicle manufactured after 1996 that has a standard OBD-II port, which covers the vast majority of cars on the road today.
How long does installation take?
Under 5 minutes. Locate your OBD-II port (usually under the dashboard near the steering column), plug in the Ranger, and follow the in-app setup steps — no tools required.
What happens if I don't subscribe?
Without an active plan, the Ranger device will not transmit data. Your subscription is what connects the hardware to the cloud and enables tracking, alerts, and trip history.
Is my location data safe and private?
Yes. All data is encrypted in transit and at rest using military-grade encryption. Only authorized users on your account can access your vehicle's location and trip data.
Can I track multiple vehicles?
Yes. You can add as many Ranger devices as you need under one account. Each device requires its own subscription plan.
Can I cancel my subscription at any time?
Absolutely. There are no long-term contracts. You can cancel your monthly plan at any time directly from the Rescue Rangers app or your account dashboard.
